A native of Chicago's south suburbs, Matt Walus exploded on the music scene
during his years at Dartmouth College as the founder and lead singer of
"Kodiak Jack" -- a funk-rock band which also included current backup
vocalist Jennifer Tudder. In 1997, he joined Caught Naked as its frontman
and has been entertaining audiences with his intoxicating style ever since.
Known for his passionate and intense behavior, Matt electrifies the stage
with boundless energy and lyrical sincerity. His raw talent for songwriting
often marries a streak of social consciousness to the band's scorching
guitars and pulsating rhythms. In fact, Matt has written many of Caught
Naked's original tunes, such as "Democracy," "Idle Tuesday" and "Heart for
the Heartless." Offstage, Matt still plays every sport known to man and
enjoys scuba diving, fishing, camping, catching episodes of South Park,
reading Dean Koontz novels and speaking Jive.
