WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: Dustin Parker is a music industry veteran. Raised in Memphis, he started out as a runner for Transmaximum Studio (Booker T. and Steve Cropper's studio) in the 60's, and later became a session guitarist for Stax Records. In the 70s, he released three critically acclaimed albums and even enjoyed some chart success. In 1981, he moved to Chicago, where he has remained a local club fixture ever since. After a many-year hiatus, Parker started recording again and Tales From Centerville is the fruit of his labors. "Centerville is a collection of stories that I want people to be able to relate to, and that won't be boring musically," shares Parker. So if your station needs your basic Midwestern meat-and-potatoes style o'rock as its main course, then the no-frills, passionate sound of Dustin Parker is sure to be your main course order.
